Had the Crab cakes and Black cod, my husband had the mushroom soup and steak, the food was flawless, the service was quick and attentive. Had seen this place from time to time, since I sometimes go through the Port on business and loved the comfortable charm it presented. This summer after a day of cherry picking, we ended up in Port Dalhousie and Murphy's seemed like the place to try. We were so thirsty! They did the Long Island Ice Tea ... to a tee, and the food was fantastic. We had the surf and turf and a daily special and no one was disappointed. I had a hankering for a fish and chips lunch one weekday and decided to search my GPS's "points of interest" for something local. English Bay came up as the closest place and I sure am glad it did. It's a small cozy feeling restaurant, probably about 12-16 seats, not too busy (11:30am). The service was attentive, and the Haddock fish and chips?... the best I've had to date. Oh yeah, the gravy was unique and also tasted great! I thought the meal was a little pricey but being small and in a plaza, I know that rents can be pretty steep, I guess that kind of justifies it. Love this place! My husband and I were looking for good fish and chips and we were quite satisfied. I dont really care what the place looks like on the inside as long as it is clean. They have a sign saying the health department has been there and checked the place out and they passed so thats alright in my books. I think some people are a little dramatic on here. Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more

I always enjoy the menu at Milestones. I have one concern. The wine list unbelievably does not have ONE Ontario wine in its selection of wines that are all international. Its hard to believe that in our Niagara region we produce some of the worlds best wines at very good prices and Milestones doesn't have even one red and white available. Please correct this for your customers. Our group were mystified when they looked at the wine list and all agreed this was an oversight at a good restaurant. Read more

I ended up at this restaurant today because I was craving a pork souvlaki but have been constantly disappointed by anything in Etobicoke. I found it on this site – there were so many over the top reviews that I thought they must be phony. However, once I read the review where someone had an argument with the owner over coleslaw juice getting on their fries and said they’d never go back (but admitted it was the best fish and chips in Toronto) I knew this place must be good. Well I didn’t have the fish and chips but WOW – I had the best pork souvlaki I’ve had in years. The Greek salad was simple with a really fresh dressing.
